On September 18, 2025, we participated in the Biotechforum titled “From Local to Global: Strategies for Internationalization in Technology and Digital Health,” held within the framework of Farmaforum in Madrid.
During the meeting, our CEO, Alexandra Ivanova, highlighted several key aspects for developing more favorable and effective market strategies in the healthcare sector. Among them, she emphasized the need to demonstrate clinical and social value from the early stages, as well as the importance of implementing innovative funding models. To achieve this, it is necessary to involve patients and healthcare professionals in the search for solutions that improve usability and achieve greater effectiveness.
Another topic addressed was the challenge of scaling digital therapies and their funding through the National Health System. Currently, in Spain there is no specific regulatory framework for the evaluation and financing of digital therapies, so it will be necessary to develop flexible regulations capable of adapting to the rapid pace of technological innovation. In Europe, several models could serve as references. Germany has been a pioneer with its structured funding system for digital therapies, while France and Belgium have made progress through experimental programs. In these countries, mechanisms such as outcome-based payments or funding conditional on evidence generation are applied—approaches that could inspire a model adapted to the Spanish context.
